Veteran's Day Pix

I'll have alot more pix up in the next few days. Foremost though, I just wanted to say how disheartening it is that some of my favorite NYC news blogs - blogs I read every day of the week; blogs that can readily be found on KTB's blogroll - gave ZERO coverage to this sacred American day. Not a declaration or a mention was anywhere in sight. Forget posting a pic from the parade. There wasn't even an attempt made to thank just one of America's heros.

It's sad that if there's a protest or protesters are getting arrested, these same blogs are reporting the minutiae of said events. But on a day like today, we saw nothing from them. Not one thing. Sad isn't it?

With that being said, here are some pix from today's parade down 5th Avenue. There'll be more up soon. Enjoy.

Update: More pix are up. You can see them by clicking the link below. There are about 60 total pix so please be ready to wait a few moments before the page loads in full.

I guess you are referring to Gothamist.

It is very lame of them for not having one tidbit of this event/holiday. I read them everyday too and I enjoy Jen's work very much. But this is quite telling as to her perspectives and such.

Thanks for the great pics.

First of all the pics are awesome, get the rest up ASAP. I agree with your commentary, it seems as if the parade was not contoversial enough to warrant coverage from the other bloggers. This is truly sad since were it not for the freedoms given to these bloggers by the sacrifices of the same vets they forget to honor, most of them would be expressing their views by etching words into the concrete walls of dark prison cells instead of typing them into a computer from the comfort of their cushy office. Keep up the good work and honor those who deserve it.
