It's always nice to leave the concrete behind and get out of New York. I'm very fortunate in that I have my escape upstate
and I try not to take it for granted.
It was a gray day when I took these photos and it had been raining for the past forty eight
hours. It feels like we're actually going to skip right over spring this year and shoot on into summer. That would be
unfortunate since upstate NY is so beautiful during the spring.
The subject matter in these photos includes an old bridge made of stone and rock. I wish I knew more about it except that it
no longer serves its function. I'm assuming that this bridge was built by early upstate settlers at least 100 years ago.
The upper section of the bridge is no longer standing. The only remains are two support arched support columns and a staircase
that leads down to the mini waterfall on the side of the bridge. There's also a roofless stone structure on the side of the
bridge which houses some sort of pumping station. Again, I'm clueless as to the nature of the machines sheltered therein. I do
know that after visiting here, I re-gain my appreciation for the simplistic beauty of nature in upstate NY.
